Florida’s warm weather is perfect for getting your golf cart out and hitting the road. Our golf carts are very safe and reliable; but, it’s important to keep in mind our safety tips to avoid injury.
Read some of our suggestions below for golf cart safety.
No Downhill Reverse Driving
If you’re uphill on a slope, please avoid reversing your cart downhill. It can be extremely dangerous, and you might end up hurting yourself by losing control of your vehicle on the slope.
Drive Responsibly
Use caution when driving the golf cart over wet, muddy, steep, or uneven ground.
Safety Basics
- Only carry that number of passengers for which you have seats and/or seatbelts.
- Operate a Cart from the Driver’s Seat ONLY.
- Always fully engage the parking brake and remove the key before leaving the Cart.
While You’re Driving
- Obey and follow all traffic rules.
- Keep feet, legs, hands, and arms inside the Cart at all times.
- Make sure the direction selector (forward/reverse) for the Cart is in the correct position prior to accelerating.
- Always bring the Cart to a full stop prior to shifting the direction selector (forward/reverse.)
- Slow down before and during turns.
- Check behind you prior to operating in reverse.
- Always yield to pedestrians.
- Always wear the provided seatbelt(s.)
- Do not text and drive in the Cart.
- Do not allow anyone to stand in a moving Cart.
- Do not drive the Cart while intoxicated.
Adapting to Your Terrain
- Use extra care, and reduce speed when driving in poor conditions, or on poor surfaces.
- Avoid extremely rough terrain.
- Don’t drive fast downhill.
- Avoid steep slopes.
- Be aware that sudden stops, or changes in direction, could make you lose control of the Cart.
